Melbourne Art Fair 2024
Melbourne Art Fair returns to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre this February with the theme ketherba – a Boon Wurrung word meaning ‘togetherness imbued with promise’. Presentations from 60 galleries and art centres are accompanied by a broader artistic program underpinned by the categories VIDEO, BEYOND, LIVE and PROJECT ROOMS, featuring large-scale installations, video works, performances and conversations. In 2024 the fair will also present the 10th Melbourne Art Foundation Commission, presented to Julie Rrap and supported by the Art Gallery of Western Australia, which will acquire the major sculptural work SOMOS (Standing On My Own Shoulders) at the end of the fair. Other notable features include the William Mora Indigenous Art Centre program, supporting the presence of four Indigenous art centres at the fair, while 11 ‘young’ galleries have had their spaces subsidised by the Melbourne Art Foundation as part of its commitment to supporting emerging artistic practices. Melbourne Art Fair is back from February 22 – 25, 2023.
