Ash Keating

Melbourne artist Ash Keating is known for his spectacular largescale paintings, often covering entire buildings and huge walls, and featuring fluid, vertical gradients of intense colour created using paint-filled fire extinguishers. In a public two-session performance shortly before the 2023 folk festival in Badenfahrt, Keating transformed the neglected caretaker’s house in the Museum Langmatt park into a huge three-dimensional painting. Due to be demolished, the Haus Germann will soon make way for the construction of a glass, multifunctional pavilion. In the meantime, it is the central focus of the exhibition, complemented by new paintings in the park and museum rooms, providing a comprehensive insight into the artist’s multidisciplinary practice. Ash Keating shows at Museum Langmatt until December 10, 2023.
