Jeppe Hein: Share Your Perspectives
In collaboration with KÖNIG GALERIE, Berlin, the ARNDT Collection presents a solo exhibition of sculptural works by internationally acclaimed Berlin based Danish artist Jeppe Hein. The ARNDT Collection’s The Artbarn is on a sprawling property on Victoria’s Cape Schanck. Embracing this location, the exhibition is both indoors and out. In The Artbarn, a selection of pieces from the artist’s key artwork series’ appear, including coloured Mirrored Balloons and appellative neon texts glowing behind two-way mirrors. Outdoors, a curation of large-scale sculptures from the artist’s Modified Social Benches – and one of the artist’s renowned Mirror Labyrinth installations – can be viewed in the natural environment. Hein’s work is inspired by the constant regeneration of perception, and asks the viewer to become aware of the elemental processes that form sensory reality. Ideas from Eastern philosophy and sculpture’s potential for profound spatial recombination inform his experiential and interactive artworks, which borrow the traditions of 1970s Minimalist sculpture and Conceptual art and inhabit the junction where art, architecture and technical inventions intersect.
