Meet the Artists
The multimedia show Meet the Artists, curated by Julie Ewington, features the James C. Sourris AM collection of artist interviews alongside selected artwork and studio materials from eight leading Queensland artists: Vernon Ah Kee, Luke Roberts, Fiona Foley, Judith Wright, Leonard Brown, Anne Wallace, Sandra Selig and Eugene Carchesio. The exhibition is a testament to the significance of the interviews, which provide important insight into the practice of some of Australia’s most respected art world figures. With the art of the featured artists available for view alongside their interviews, viewers are able to “[h]ear their words,” and “see their work.” Meet the Artists, a celebration of the best of Australian art, continues at the State Library of Queensland until 9 July 2023.
