Floating Land

Noosa Regional Gallery’s Floating Land, free to enter for all ages, is one of the region’s most significant and iconic events. Floating Land was the first environmental art program of its kind in Australia, and the biennial event features temporary sculptural installations in nature by acclaimed local, national and international artists. Beginning in 2001, the event is now in its 12th year, returning in 2023 with a new program after the 2021 iteration, Floating Land: at the edge of ideas, was a joint winner of the 2022 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards (GAMAA) in the category ‘Projects: Organisations with Paid Staff.’ This latest iteration is subtitled us and them, and it looks at competing identities, prejudices and assumptions, with artists including Kim Guthrie, Juan Ford, Hoda Afshar, Gosia Wlodarczak, Van Rudd and the Ryan Sisters, among many others. The biennial runs from June 24 to July 30, 2023.
