Tess Campbell and Sam Mountford’s new film On the Shoreline is the starting point for the multimedia exhibition Boundaries, upcoming at Contemporary Art Tasmania. The film was developed out of the artists’ research with IMAS Australian Antarctic Division scientists and in collaboration with marine pollution researcher Peter Puskic, and connects scientific knowledge with storytelling. Boundaries, curated by Luch Blach, extends the capacities of this intersection even further. The exhibition takes the premise of the ‘shore’ as a strategy for exploring the environmental and existential concerns of our time. Campbell and Mountford’s installation, prints and video portraits bring science directly into conversation with personal narratives. Boundaries shows at Contemporary Art Tasmania from January 26 to March 6, 2022.
