Late last year to celebrate the launch of the coveted Issue 32: The Future is Female, VAULT partnered with HOTA, Home of the Arts, to present an incredible afternoon of discussion that responded to the themes of the female-focused issue. Discussions were facilitated by VAULT Editor in Chief, Alison Kubler across two panels titled Act One– Looking Back and Act Two – Looking Forward.

Guest speakers included Dr. Sue Best; First Nations artist Judy Watson; Curatorial Manager, International Art, QAGOMA, Geraldine Kirrihi Barlow; artist Sancintya Mohini Simpson and Director of the Walls, Gold Coast and artist Rebecca Ross in Act One, and HOTA Gallery Director Tracey Cooper-Lavery; Griffith University Art Museum Director Angela Goddard; First Nations artist and academic Fiona Foley, and artist Natalya Hughes in Act Two. Speakers discussed how themes resonated with them personally and in their professional practice, together offering incredible insight into the actualities of female-identifying creatives operating within the arts today.
