From Today to Tomorrow: On the Stewardship of a Work
Conceived in response to the museum’s temporary closure for major building conservation, From Today to Tomorrow: On the Stewardship of a Work examines the often-invisible labour involved in caring for contemporary art. Bringing together artworks alongside the processes of conservation, restoration and collection management, the exhibition reframes stewardship as an integral component of artistic practice rather than a purely technical undertaking. In doing so, it prompts critical reflection on authorship, authenticity and the evolving responsibilities of museums in preserving works whose material and conceptual forms continue to change over time. From Today to Tomorrow: On the Stewardship of a Work runs from October 31 to April 18.
