Cartier: Melbourne Winter Masterpieces
Organised by the V&A, London, in collaboration with the NGV, CARTIER traces the evolution of one of the world’s most influential jewellery Maisons through more than a century of design and craftsmanship. Bringing together exceptional jewellery, timepieces, archival drawings, photographs and rare loans from public and private collections, the exhibition examines the creative, technical and cultural forces that have shaped Cartier’s enduring legacy. Themes of cross-cultural exchange, architectural influence and the Maison’s relationship with cinema reveal the breadth of Cartier’s design language and its capacity to continually reinvent ideas of luxury and modernity. An immersive exhibition design by Studio Sabine Marcelis and CLOUD provides a considered spatial framework that enhances the presentation of these remarkable objects. Until October 4.
