STORIES YOU WEAR: MAGPIE GOOSE
Stories You Wear: Magpie Goose is a bold exploration of First Nations storytelling through fashion, bringing together vibrant, statement- making designs by First Nations artists and communities across Queensland and beyond. Curated in collaboration with the Aboriginal- owned sustainable fashion label Magpie Goose, led by Amanda Hayman (Wakka Wakka/ Kalkadoon) and Troy Casey (Kamilaroi), the exhibition foregrounds the creative intersections of art, culture and wearable design. Featuring senior artists including Sonja Carmichael and Belinda Close, the exhibition highlights traditional weaving, intergenerational collaborations, and environmentally conscious techniques, offering visitors an intimate connection to the cultural knowledge embedded within each garment. Audiences are invited to explore the stories, practices, and sustainable processes that underpin the Magpie Goose brand, where each piece carries a narrative of community, Country and creativity. Stories You Wear: Magpie Goose will be on display until October 5, 2026.
