Two Fashion Movies From LVMH’s NOWNESS
One of our favorite sites for inspiration is Nowness.com, a treasury of extraordinary visual imagery launched by luxury group LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton in 2010. Updated daily with exclusive films, photos and reviews, Nowness connects readers to important events and projects happening in the worlds of fashion, art, culture and travel. Two new films that are showcased on the website this month are a preview of Asa Mader’s 3D, panoramic Ray of Light project starring model Carmen Kass (Chloé, Versace) and Bruce Weber’s Wet and Wild for Giorgio Armani. Recently premiering at Florence’s Piazzi Stroizzi, Ray of Light is inspired by Mader’s interest in Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time and the theory of black holes, whereas Wet and Wild, a black-and-white film featuring model Simon Nessman, uses Weber’s Miami home to depict the sensuality of the Mediteranean paradise Pantelleria, the inspiration for Armani’s new scent, Acqua di Giò Essenza.
