Gilbert and George for the Edgy Table

You may remember a few months ago that we introduced you to some extraordinary Limoges plates featuring the images of Robert Mapplethorpe. Now, that same company, Ligne Blanche Paris, is releasing a set of four vessels celebrating the high-concept photo works of the English art duo Gilbert and George. Known as well for their fastidiously constructed public image as they are for their sometimes in-your-face but always aesthetically striking pieces—incorporating themes from religion and patriotism to East End skinheads and explicit gay sexuality—Gilbert and George have been at the vanguard of the U.K. art scene since the 1980s. Now, four of their works—Flight (1983), Light Headed (1991), One (1988) and Winter Flowers (1992)—can be had for the table, adding a bit of colorful sauciness to your bangers and mash. Set of four, 85 euros for 21 cm diameter, 100 euros for 27 cm diameter. Available at
