Paris Versus New York: Vahram Muratyan’s Urban Tributes
French illustrator Vahram Muratyan is renowned for his whimsical and witty illustrations comparing signature qualities of New York and Paris, between which he splits his time. Earlier this year, Penguin published Paris Versus New York: A Tally of Two Cities, which collects select images from the artist’s blog, and it’s already an essential part of any chic library. Postcards and prints are also quickly being snapped up by collectors. A fashion favorite, Muratyan has worked with clients such as the Cannes film festival, Chanel, the Opéra de Paris and, most recently, Prada, for whom he created visuals and T-shirts for the Spring/Summer 2012 campaign Parallel Universes. First exhibited at Colette in France and The Standard in Manhattan, Paris Versus New York is a delight for those in love with both the Big Apple and the City of Light.
