Grace Coddington’s Limited-Edition Collection for Balenciaga

Parisian luxury label Balenciaga has collaborated with Vogue creative director Grace Coddington on a limited-edition collection to launch on September 6th for Fashion’s Night Out. The accessories feature sketches of Coddington’s beloved cat, Pumpkin, wearing Balenciaga runway looks from the past 10 years.

Karl Lagerfeld and his new cat, Coupette, have been gunning for the title of the industry’s most adored feline, but Grace has been fashion’s cat lady for years. In 2008, Coddington, along with longtime partner Didier Malige, released The Catwalk Cats, a book inspired by the sketches Coddington would fax to Malige. The book “records the couple’s relationship through photographs (Malige’s) and drawings (Coddington’s) that document the couple’s highly entertaining private and work lives through the eyes of their feline friends.”

The Grace Coddington for Balenciaga Pumpkin Collection includes the Pumpkin Papier tote, $1,000, a silk twill scarf, $395, and a fringed wool and silk scarf, $495. The pieces aren’t merely an adorable quirk, however: 20 percent of the proceeds will go to the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.
