Art Basel: Hot Books, Buzzy Signings

This week during Art Basel Miami Beach, the Standard Hotel and The Webster are hosting book signings featuring three of today’s most prominent cultural photographers. Bruce Weber, Terry Richardson and The Sartorialist’s Scott Shuman will showcase their latest books on succeeding days.

December 6: Bruce Weber’s All American Volume Twelve: A Book of Lessons

Renowned fashion photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber will present All American Volume Twelve: A Book of Lessons at The Standard on Thursday, December 6th, at 6 p.m. Featuring the artist’s usual eclectic lineup of talent, original photography and interviews, as well as commissioned works by artists from John Derek to Frank O’Hara, AAVT is sure to take its place among Weber’s output of eminently collectible publications. The night before, Weber will also premiere his new film, Can I Make the Music Fly?, at an invite-only party co-hosted by Dior Homme (whose new store launches in the Design District) and magazine.

December 7: Terry Richardson’s Terrywood

Documenting Hollywood’s flaming youth and the iconic figures who make up the gritty aesthetic of fame in the City of Angels, Terrywood is a new vision from controversial photog Terry Richardson. The book signing, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 7th, at The Standard, will be followed by an exclusive party, which is sure to feature a number of Richardson’s subjects.

December 8: The Sartorialist’s Closer

Scott Schuman—otherwise known as fashion’s famed photo-blogger The Sartorialist—paved the way for street-fashion photography. Schuman will present his book Closer, a collection of unique photographs from some of the world’s most prominent fashion capitals at The Webster on Saturday, December 8th, at 4 p.m.
