Araki Creates Anime for Gucci

The bold and unique statement has always been a signature of the house of Gucci, a truism currently illustrated by creative director Frida Giannini’s decision of how to showcase the floral collection for Cruise 2013. Straying from the conventional window visuals used by other major luxury houses, she has collaborated with Japanese manga (cartoon anime) artist Hirohiko Araki to create a phantasmagorical campaign. Certain to grasp the attention of passersby, the installations transport viewers to the magical world of Jolyne Kujo, an ever-changing character from Araki’s famed series, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. “Jolyne, Fly High With Gucci” follows the title character’s fascinating encounters after inheriting a mysterious treasure from her mother’s Gucci collection. Curious as to how the story unfolds? Pay a visit to any Gucci boutique, or simply follow Gucci on Facebook where they will provide videos as well as manga. The story will also appear in Japan’s Spur magazine.
