Rizzoli’s New Book on the Cartier Tank Watch

Created by Louis Cartier in 1917, the iconic Tank watch has always been one of the Parisian jewelry house’s most venerable and glamorous designs. The rectangular face, fashioned in gold or platinum and often decorated with gemstones, has adorned the wrists of some of the century’s most luminous celebrities, from Clark Gable and Andy Warhol to Jacqueline Onassis and Claudia Schiffer. Now, Rizzoli is releasing an opulent new volume, Cartier: The Tank Watch, filled with lavish images from the company’s archives. Design sketches, photos of vintage models, snaps of Tank-wearing stars— they’re all here, delivering a tome that is sure to be a benchmark in timeless style.

Cartier: The Tank Watch, $100. To be released in September by Rizzoli.
